The Lodge

Inside the Lodge

The lodge is comprised of an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area.  A small hallway leads to the bathroom and bedrooms.  The lodge has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom and can accommodate up to four people.  There is also a small storage room off the lounge where luggage & clean / dry fishing equipment can be kept.

The lodge is fully insulated for year-round use and has an LPG gas combi boiler providing central heating and hot water.  A free Wi-Fi connection is available.

In the kitchen / dining area there is a tall larder fridge, separate undercounter freezer, an electric oven, electric hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and dining table to seat 4 people.  The lounge has two 2-seater settees, a 32 inch TV with integrated DVD and electric log burner style fire. There is also an ironing board, iron and hairdryer available for use.

A parking space for 2 cars is available next to the lodge.  Please note that there are 4 steps from the parking area up to the decking area and lodge door.  Another 4 steps from the decking area take you on to the banks of the fishing lakes, as shown on the pictures in the gallery.

There is access to a washing machine (located in an outside building) on request.  A rotary washing line outside the lodge and an indoor airer have been provided.

We let the lodge on a 7-night basis from Friday to Friday each week.  Included in the price is the heating, power, bed linen (not towels) and whilst staying with us, up to two of the guests may fish on our coarse fishing lakes.

We may accept 1 large / medium or 2 small dogs on request for a small additional weekly charge.  All guests staying in the lodge must be 16 years or older.

About the location

The lodge is within walking distance of the village pub – The Grapes, which is open serving food from Wednesday to Sunday. There are plenty of other eating establishments in the local area and we provide information about them and the local shopping facilities including tackle shops within the lodge.

We are located in a rural area approximately 20-30 minutes away from Blackpool, Lancaster and Preston.  The M6 & M55 motorways are approximately 10-15 minutes away giving access to areas such as the Lake District (approx 1 hour away).  The Fylde and Wyre coastlines (including Lytham, St Anne’s, Blackpool, Cleveleys and Fleetwood) and areas such as the Trough of Bowland, Forest of Bowland AONB, Ribble Valley and Morecambe Bay are easily accessed from the lodge.

The village is served by a Stagecoach bus service – No.42, which runs approximately hourly between Lancaster, Garstang and Blackpool.  Buses to Preston are also available from Garstang.  Whilst public transport is available, we do recommend the use of a car due to the low frequency of the buses.

The nearest train stations serving the West Coast mainline are at Lancaster or Preston, both of which are approximately 25 minutes away by car.
